This weld wasn’t very hard at all the hardest part was climbing through the pipes to get to this one. The hardest part was trying to hold the grinder and myself up at the same time.

The high low off set on this open root exceeded and 1/8 inch or more. The o.d of the stainless fitting is almost the i.d of the carbon elbow. The drip root I learned helped me tremendously. I’m welding in randlemen North Carolina for powerfab. Proud tws grad.

I am most proud of my 7018 overpass weld .It wasn’t really a challenge for me. I’ve learned that you have to keep cooling the plate due to it getting to hot.

I dont take pictures of welds but im proud to have been able to attend the international welding contest for the pipe trades representing UA Local 9! TWS laid the foundations for my skills and to be admitted into Local 9 and further my ability with the help of my teachers. I always speak highly of the education and all around good times had during my time at TWS and hope everyone can have the success ive acquired with TWS as a start.

I was very proud of the way this weld looked. There are so many challenges to overcome on a hotpass. The key for me was to find a amperage I liked that could fuse and move quick with to not suck the root back. Coming out of this welding coupon, I learned that 3/32 filler wire is the way to go with a hot pass. It fuses in the walls of the pipe rapidly and it’s easy to move that little of metal quickly without sucking that root back. There and gone. TWS Proud

This is my TIG root and hot pass. It’s small and might not mean something to others but I started this school with ZERO experience or knowledge. I came out of the military and decided that I wanted welding to be my career. I fell behind and didn’t think I had what it took but spending some 1 on 1 with the instructors to get their own opinions and tactics showed me different ways. I laid this TIG root down in less than 45 seconds and the hot pass followed suit. This is just the beginning of a great career. All in all I’m proud of coming everyday and showing what I am capable of learning and doing.

I’m most proud of the skills I learned while becoming a welder and winning the Top One welding contest at Tulsa Welding School. Inspired by my father who spent 20yrs in the Air Force and 10yrs with Lockheed as a welder (air craft), TWS was a perfect choice for me. I had all the skills needed to successfully complete these welds therefore I had no challenges. TWS prepared me for a great career after graduation as a boiler maker and a oil/ gas value welder.

I am most proud of how unique and diverse this weld is, there are not many like this and it took me a lot of time to construct, there were a lot of challenges I had to overcome such as were to bend the re-rod and to make it look very realistic

I am proud of the 94% grade I received on this weld. For me, the challenge of the 4F fillet weld was getting the rod angles just right for the overlaps. However, I did get burned a few times but its a fun reminder that I enjoy what I am learning here at TWS.

Tulsa welding school was the best part about being in Florida. When I was in school I was happy, cause I was always learning something. The weld pictured is of 70/10 coppernickle, without Tulsa I wouldn’t have been able to perfect how to weld this type of material which very few can weld. I’m proud to have graduated from Tulsa and would like to thank the principal, Charles, for landing me my first welding job. Thank you.

I am proud that Tulsa teaching me new ways to run my weld that allows me to weld more comfortable. It was Challaging getting my welds to line up in a straight line but I stayed focus and steady. I learned that in order to make good welds it’s going to take practice in the booth and dedication.
