Did you know that July 2023 was the hottest month on record globally? Are we on the precipice of irreversible climate change? Many experts see this as the point of no return. But how are we going to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and reverse our current climate trajectory? Many see the transition to electrification as the answer to stopping a world of climate refugees. And electricians are being called upon to fuel this revolution.
What Do Electricians Do?
Electricians are responsible for a similar role today as they have been for decades. They are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical power. The difference today is that more of our power comes from renewable energy, with wind and solar at the forefront.
Solar in particular is something that electricians must understand to satisfy the increased demand that will be needed to electrify the future. From new home construction to retrofitting old electrical systems, our electricians must utilize modern technologies to help reduce our carbon footprint and transition to an electrified future.
What is the Demand for Electricians?
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that we will need 79,900 electricians each year through 2031 to satisfy demand. Plus, the sheer number of homes that need to be upgraded in the U.S. is estimated to include 70% of U.S. single-family homes. Consequently home contractors, electrician franchises and utility companies are looking to hire trained electricians ready to hit the ground running.
This is where Tulsa Welding School comes in. We prepare our students to become successful electricians with a complete curriculum including the fundamentals of electricity, solar, electrical wiring, motors and lighting practices, and electrical distribution systems. Enjoy both classroom theory and hands-on training focused on real life scenarios, all while using industry standard equipment. Plus, our students look to TWS to help them find a job after graduation. And we are ready to help.
