About this Scholarship

The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association (FMA) was founded in 1970 and is a professional organization with more than 2,500 individual and company members from the metal fabricating and equipment manufacturing industries. Its mission is to champion for the growth and sustainability of the North American metal forming, processing and fabricating industries through technology councils, educational programs and scholarships and the FABTECH trade show.

What is it?

SparkForce (Formerly known as NutsBolts & Thingamajigs or NBT) is a scholarship for students seeking degrees that will lead to careers in manufacturing.

When is it?

Application Process Opens July 1, 2025, and Closes Sep 30, 2025.

Who can apply?

To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be pursuing a degree or certification in one of the approved fields of study.
  • Be enrolled in or planning to enroll in a manufacturing-related program during the semester for which they are applying.
  • Be a full-time student taking 12 or more credit hours, or a part-time student taking at least 6 credit hours if working while attending school.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for community, trade, or technical college students, or 3.0 for university students.
  • Submit an application and transcript by the appropriate deadline.
