    Hard Work And Dedication!

Hi My name is Clayton Hardesty. I’m a graduate of Tulsa Welding School. I graduated in March of 2011 at the Tulsa Oklahoma Campus. As soon as I graduated, I was able to come right in to the Pipefitters Union Local 562 St. Louis Mo. I’ve been working in coal burning power plants and nuclear power plants making hot welds on big steam Pipes. I’ve also been on a few chiller and boiler change out jobs and I’ve gotten to travel a bunch since I started with them! This year will be my last year of a five year apprenticeship that I’ve been serving with them. I have to say that I love what I do for a living. If it wasn’t for TWS and the instructors that I learned from while I was there i would have never passed the weld tests to get into the Union and on to jobs where I have to pass a gate tests to be able to weld on the construction jobs that I go on. While I was at TWS, I was in the afternoon class. I would come in extra early each day and stay late so that I would get a grasp on what I was learning at the time. There where some days that were harder than others for me with the welding and there were some days that it just came natural. Those long hard days that I spent in the booth paid off in the end I’m very happy where I’m at today. TWS taught me that Hard work and dedication does pay off! I still have a long ways to go and I’m still learning everyday. I had a instructor tell me at TWS that the day you quit learning is the day that you quit doing anything and I have to say that stands to be true. Thank you for all that you have taught me TWS and thank you to all the instructor that taught me along the way!!!

    Best experience of my life

I struggled a little starting out but the instructors were so helpful. Staffing after and working one on one with the best welders I’ve ever met was an experience I’ll never forget and will always be grateful for.

    Great hands on training

Most trade school will show you a book on welding, anyone can read about it. Welding is skilled, every company wants it. TWS will show you step by step hands on welding. Making that first impression easy during interview.

    Great experience

I loved the program. I learned so much from day one to my final day. The program was fast and challenging wich i loved. The instructors did everything in their power to make sure you knew exactly what u needed to be ready for the field. They all had a ton of real world expirence and where able to apply that to the way they teach. Only problem was out dated equipment but thats not a big deal because it all worked fine.

    Awesome Experience

I was able to complete the program in 9 months after re-phasing phases 2 & 4. I was in the afternoon shift so it was really neat to be able to learn from and have the perspective of two different instructors both in the lab and in the classroom. All seemed more than knowledgable in the welding process they were teaching at the time and I never had an instructor that wasn’t more than willing to teach one on one or work with me through break time. The career services department has also done a great job at always keeping me updated with the latest job opportunities, their awesome! I don’t give five stars for the same reason the instructors don’t give out perfect grades. There’s always room for improvement. That being said it was a much better experience than I anticipated and I still miss being there with all the staff and instructors and would highly and gladly recommend it to anyone looking at becoming a certified welder.

    Welding my future together.

This program help me get my life together. It got me a job welding 40 hours a week, 401k and full insurance. This program showed me not only how to weld perfectly, but how to make positive life choices. It was worth every cent.

    Awesome experience

Overall great school. The instructors are always willing to help. I knew nothing about welding going in and felt I could get a job when I left. You get out what you put in so I was a little worried about the students that didn’t give their all and still graduated making the rest of us look bad.

    Great program

The program was fast, almost to fast. It flew by. Good school if you stay in the booth and behind the hood. The instructors give you the chance to lean it’s up to you to make it happen. I’m currently on my 3rd job and the employers seem to be thrilled with the skill I have learned here at TWS

    Great experience

I’m very thankful for the knowledge and the experience that I gained in the EMT program, I was taught the necessary skills I needed to be successful in the HVAC field. I want to take the time to shoot out Mr. Reid for showing me the way and teaching me to be a service tech and not a helper. I’m grateful for competing in SKILL USA representing TULSA OF JAX and placing in the state finals. The career service department work so hard with job placement thanks MARCEL for everything. THANKS TWS

    Awesome program!

This program was an amazing experience! All the teachers loved their job and loved helping their students. After school I had a job within the next month. And now I’m doing a job I love everyday. With great pay of course! If I ever go bad to Florida I will definitely be stopping in to see everyone and share my experiences.

    Mediocre to Master

If you want to succeed in welding this is the place to be. I’ve been through 3 years of welding school (excluding this school) and 1 year on the job. That doesn’t amount to much to some people but I’ve had my fair amount of welding instructors. The instructors at TWS Jacksonvile are the best of the best. You only get 7 months with them but they become your brothers and if you listen to them you cannot fail. Once I graduated I sat at home for 3 days and on the forth day I started a great welding job that I still have today. Just remember 2 things, practice makes perfect and hood time is good time.

    Awesome Experience!!

I completed the program in 7 months and it was an amazing experience! The teachers really helped me and motivated me when I doubted myself. This school offers a great program and I’m so happy I got my Welding Specialist Certification here. If I had to do it all over again, I would definetly choose Tulsa Welding School again.

    Awesome experience

I learned a lot, great instructors, awesome experience, I learned a lot about the knowledge and the skill of welding. I completed the professional welder program in 7 months. Anytime I had a question the instructor was right there to help. I loved every minute of it. I work at shop welding parts and tanks for A large company and what I learned from TWS helped me in every way that helped me on my weld test applying what I learned and helped me land a welding job I love every minute of my job and having my hood down all day. I am very glad and proud to say that I am a TWS graduate 2016

I take my hat off to the instructors that realize they learn from students just as much as we learn from them

This is coming from a guy that knew absolutely nothing about welding before enrolling in tws I was able to complete this program due to the help of 2 great instructors that pushed & believed in me I was on the verge of being dropped but they weren’t going for that and continued to push and work with me until I got my thrive back and was able to bend out on all my final projects.. looking back I wish I would’ve known that they charge you $300 for every rephase not faulting tws because I realized that you get out what you put into this program the help& assistance is there you just have to handle your business while there. As my favorite instructor would say “If you ain’t burning, you ain’t learning”

    Awesome experience and great instructors

My time at the school and money was well spent. The instructors have the willingness to show you how to do the project and spend time with you if you need the extra help. The school administration always does their best to make every students time at the school well worth it and try to help everyone with their individual needs. I would recommend the school to anyone looking to get into the welding industry

Great school, Great experience would do it again in a heartbeat

I came in knowing nothing whatsoever about welding and after the very first day in the lab I knew it was all worth the sacrifice. Of course nothing comes easy success always comes after hard work. Before I attended I saw some negative reviews only to realize that the majority of those people are dropouts that just expect things to be handed to them. All you have to do is show up, listen, learn and keep at it until you get it right. Some instructors seemed cocky at first but I realized later that they’re not trying to down talk you or screw you over on your grade, they’re just telling you in all honesty what your beads are rated. Now I actually appreciate the tougher instructors because it just made me a better welder.
Career services is awesome but they can only do so much. Students expect to just sit on their ass and land a job but it doesn’t work that way. Tws will go e you some leads but its up to you to persue them. Only few things I didn’t like is a few instructors just there sitting around not trying to help students and just collecting their paychecks but its only a few, there’s way more good than bad. Another thing is I would’ve liked some kind of course that guides you on what to charge on small jobs just to give you an idea on how to set your rates. All in all I highly recommend this school to anyone

Good experience, learn a large variety of welding methods

There were many excellent instructors who were willing to take the time to teach one on one. I learned all the common welding methods and have used almost all of my knowledge on the job. One of the few schools that teaches downhill pipe welding. I wouldn’t have been able to take a two year welding course, so I was glad to be able to get it done in about 7 months. I now have an excellent job TIG welding pipe in the oil/energy industry.
