Jacksonville, Fla. (6/5/2015) —Tulsa Welding School (TWS) has recently added an Electrical Applications program to its Jacksonville campus. For over 60 years, TWS has trained its students for careers in the skilled trades.

TWS Jacksonville decided to add the Electrical Applications program to meet the increasing demand for electricians across the country and in Florida. The electrical industry in Florida is estimated to grow by 31% from 2012-2022.

The new Electrical Applications program provides students with a hands-on education in a simulated real-world environment. Classes and labs are taught by industry professionals with years of experience in the field. Regional Campus President Mark Staats said of the new program, “We saw a need for educated electricians in our community, and it made sense with our history of training students for careers in the skilled trades to include electrical applications in our program offerings.” CNBC recently reported the results of Manpower’s 2015 Talent Shortage Survey, which highlighted a global demand for workers in skilled trades. According to their survey, it is the hardest job to fill.

Those enrolled in the Electrical Applications program will gain an understanding of mechanical and electrical principles, as well as residential and commercial wiring applications. Students learn the skills to gain entry-level employment in the residential, commercial and industrial electrical industry.

TWS is committed to teaching its students the skills they need to excel in a variety of environments, such as the fast-growing field of electrical applications. The TWS Jacksonville campus also offers other skilled trades programs, including Refrigeration Technologies, Professional Welder, and Electro-Mechanical Technologies, giving students several options of study in growing, sustainable career fields. TWS has a long history of producing satisfied graduates. TWS graduate Rachel Naime explained “I graduated March 8th, and then, two or three weeks later I was at work, on the job.”
